Crystal is a devoted practitioner & teacher of yoga. She synthesises years of study in classical yoga, somatic practices, anatomy, massage, functional movement & pilates. Forever grateful to all her mentors (including Mark Togni, Dena Kingsberg & Michelle Cassidy). In 2012 Crystal became fully immersed in what would become her life’s work(s), guiding weekly group classes, private one-on-ones, workshops, events and assisting teacher trainings around Australia. Living in Sri Lanka in 2016, she also facilitated monthly Yoga Retreats & Immersions to people of all walks of life. Crystal is influenced by the work of K. Pattabhi Jois, B.K.S Iyengar, Thomas Myers, Ida Rolf, Richard Freeman, Eddie Stern, Louise Hay, Paul Chek & Andrew Taylor Still.
Together with her love of yoga and all forms of movement, Crystal is presently studying Osteopathy which also informs her practice & teaching, bringing together an integrated healing approach. Crystal has worked with a number of elite athletes from various sports disciplines, including world class surfers, AFL players, swimmers and dancers. Her passion lies in her desire to encourage students to gently explore & deepen their practice at their own pace, to inspire overall health and embed calmness into daily life.
“Much of the joy in my life comes from sharing yoga, being in the ocean, dancing and good food with others. It is also about refining & improving my knowledge through study, practice & the example of others. I love to teach yoga! I love to learn, practice & share the basic instructions & the subtle insights that make the practice of yoga a transformational experience” ~ Crystal O’Rourke
