Event Details
This workshop will offer a beautiful blend of practices that enhances the understanding of spinal
health, cultivates functional strength & mobility whilst utilising the work of the BackMitra and a
Deflated Muscle Release Ball for additional and localised focus.
This workshop will target commonly held areas of tension in the Iliopsoas, Sacrum, Lumbar Spine,
Diaphragm, Mid-Back, Neck, and Shoulders.
These areas of the body can store a lot of physical, emotional stress, and tension and that will be
addressed within this workshop to support downregulating the Central Nervous System.
Alongside expanding breath capacity and easing one’s mind to also assist your whole self to settle
back into a greater connection of harmony from within.
Suitable for students new to Yoga, mature aged, or anyone after a slower-paced restorative class.
The BackMitra is a soft but firm, supportive foam tool that when laying on top of it exerts pressure
along the spinal column that provides a gentle elongation of the spine.
The idea behind the BackMitra has its origins in India where yoga teachers began to use different
tools to create space in their students’ upper back and shoulder area.
Some key benefits of the BackMitra:• Improved alignment • Relief from headaches • Fuller range of movement in your hips • Expanded
breath capacity • Relaxation of spinal muscles • Improved function of rotator cuff • Mobilization of
spinal joints • Restoring mobility in the neck, shoulders, and back.
