Yoga Nidra is an ancient guided form of meditation that provides a gentle and supported path into deep relaxation. Yoga Nidra or ‘yogic sleep’ is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and you are guided to become aware of your inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. In Yoga Nidra, you remain in a state of light withdrawal of the 5 senses (pratyahara).

It is especially effective for people who struggle to settle their minds during meditation practice. The guided nature of Yoga Nidra provides an anchor for the mind, which helps you let go of intrusive thoughts, and release into a very deep state of relaxation.

Research has demonstrated that Yoga Nidra impacts the brain waves with a beneficial effect on the body, and effectively reduces the symptoms of depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, mild traumatic brain injury and chemical dependency amongst other stress-related conditions.
