Join us as we mark a huge milestone moment at Morning Light Studio – our 5th Birthday! It’s been five incredible years of stretching, strengthening, and finding peace in our inner worlds together, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing community. To show our appreciation and celebrate this special occasion, we’re hosting an event you won’t want to miss!

‍ Pilates – Yoga – Yin

Kick off the celebration with a dynamic Pilates class to energize and feel that very well known Pilates burn that we are so well known for!

The Pilates class will unfold into a smooth Vinyasa Yoga session, fluid movements to release and let go any built up tension while connecting breath and movement. The Vinyasa will begin to slow down moulding into Yin Yoga with longer holds and plenty of time to integrate the practice while reconnecting to our emotional and physical selves.

Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newcomer, our experienced instructor will guide you through a rejuvenating session designed to harmonize mind and body. This class is perfect for all levels and promises to leave you feeling both relaxed and invigorated. You do not need to be a member already – Newcomers welcome!

A Childbirth and Motherhood Preparation Course

If you are aiming for a vaginal birth that will leave you feeling positive and empowered and you’re also seeking an easier recovery from birth; both physically and mentally; then this course will give you the hands-on tools and knowledge to help you achieve this. Combining both ancient and modern birth wisdom; this course makes sure we are preparing the body, the mind and the Nervous System for childbirth: which all play vital roles in allowing physiological birth to progress and you to best manage the physical and emotional intensity of the childbirth process.

We’ll be deep-diving into physiological childbirth; what can get in the way of it; and the practical steps both you and your birth support person(s) can take to give you the optimal chance at having a vaginal birth of your baby; as well as learning how to adapt for other birth outcomes and interventions that may become necessary; so you still feel positive and empowered about your baby’s arrival, no matter the circumstances.

In this 1 day in-person program you will learn

How physiological birth happens and what you can therefore do to support it
A range of effective tools to use to integrate pain and challenge in childbirth (including breathing techniques, sound work, movement, visualisation and mind-techniques)
How to prepare your body for childbirth – set exercises to help support spontaneous labour and optimal positioning of your baby (avoid breech and posterior)
How to move your body in childbirth – set positions and movements to use during childbirth to keep labour progressing and support baby into the optimal position
How to prepare your Nervous System for birth – tools and exercises to start toning and training your Nervous System which can have the biggest impact on the progression of labour
How to prepare your mind for birth – exercises to explore your beliefs around birth, your personal reactions to challenge and discomfort and how to work with these to allow you to hold capacity for the challenges and changes that can happen in childbirth

Jasmine Bashford, Rise yogaAs a recent new mother herself, Jasmine has a particular passion for supporting women on their journey, physically and mentally into motherhood. She used her Yoga Therapy training and further studies and research to overcome her own struggle with perinatal anxiety and to support her to have a childbirth that was both an empowering and positive experience for everyone involved. She runs classes and courses and free community circles that support women in this way, as well as her private Yoga Therapy sessions. She is a big advocate for using multi-modalities to support our health and development, knowing that this provides a person with a wider range of accessible tools they can then choose from to suit what their current needs are. She has herself worked with Yoga Therapists, Women's Health Physios, Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Reiki practitioners, Counsellors and Psychologists to support the work she has done in her own health and self-development. She therefore often refers on to allied health professionals and will happily work with any current practitioners you may be working with to help get you the best result.

Each session throughout the day will empower you to reconnect with your authentic self, which is your birthright. To awaken to the intuitive wisdom within YOU through movement, meditation, ritual and creative art techniques.

This is a not-to-be-missed invitation to journey with Lara and to drop deep down into the lusciousness of your body where your nervous system can unwind and your heart art can express.

This Tantric approach has been radical medicine in my personal journey working with post traumatic stress symptoms of somatic anxiety and insomnia. Bathe in the rich and nourishing sounds by Adrian while Becky guides you through a Nourishing Yin Yoga practice, a sequence curated to bring you back into balance, closer to your natural state of harmony and leave you feeling deeply restored.

About your hosts:

Adrian: International Touring musician Adrian Thomas has a rich pedigree in music, supporting musician’s such as Missy Higgins and Dan Sultan, recording with Indigenous Artists Such as David Hudson(Didgeridoo) and Ben Hakalitz(Yothu Yindi) touring Hawaii and playing many of QLD’s biggest Festivals. Adrian’s deep/powerful vocals blend Ancient Chants, looped Didgeridoo, Crystal Bowls and Monsoon Rainstick creating a rich tapestry on a Journey of healing/transformative and deeply powerful Soundscapes.

Adrian has studied Ho’oponopono, sat with Hawaiian Kahuna, learned Medicine Wheel and Shamanic Practice with Lakota Medicine Men and drank Peyote with Peruvian Shaman. He has studied Indigenous Dreamtime Healing and worked for many years in Indigenous Communities, spending years meditating/studying at Vedic based centre’s, learning Ayurvedic teachings and Yoga. Adrian is a Reiki level two, Black Belt in Wing Chun Kung Fu (Grandmaster William Cheung:Ip Man, Bruce Lee) and an avid student of Mantak Chia’s Taoist Practice. He has sat countless Vipassana courses, spending time in Osho and Krishna based ashram’s and has a deep experience in Christian spiritual life, Adrian fuses a deep spiritual knowing into his powerful songwriting and storytelling.

Becky: Becky has been sharing the practices and gifts of Yoga for 8 years from the sacred space of the heart. Becky truly believes that Yoga is the gift that keeps on giving. Having studied numerous variations of Meditation, Pranayama, Yoga including but not limited to Yin, Vinyasa, Ashtanga. Becky has studied in Neuroscience and how this can be applied to a Yoga practice, plus many more courses and events to help deepen her knowledge and ignite her passion for the ancient wisdom that lies within the practices. Offering her heart in each class, workshop and retreat; attendees are invited to show up with and as all that they are – to be fully held in that space. Event Details

Are you curious about astrology, but not sure how it works and perhaps even slightly skeptical. Astrology is often misunderstood as fortune telling, but in reality is a study of patterns and cycles of energy. These patterns and cycles impact us all the time. Learning about astrology can be a way to feel in tune with the ups and downs and seasons of life.

Astrology is not something that just happens ‘out there’, it’s mirrored in our own existence. This is the hermatic principle of “As above, so below. As within, so without”.

In this class you’ll explore the ‘Outer Sky’ astrology with Belinda, delving into the current movement of the planets, and the themes of the stories they are weaving.

At the time of the workshop we have some ‘era changing’ astrology as Pluto moves fully in Aquarius until 2044. Belinda will share about what this means for you, how to work with it and the other current astrology happening and coming up.

We then transition to our ‘Inner Sky,’ focusing on our own energy and psyche, engaging with the current astrological themes through an inner journey practice called Yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra is an ancient meditation practice for relaxation, emotional regulation, manifestation and subconscious reprogramming. It translates to Yogic Sleep which describes the body and mind going to sleep but the inner awareness staying awake and present. It’s structured to guide us through the subtle energy bodys (koshas) to our inner most state.

This ancient meditation practice has caught attention of neuroscientists for its ability to take us through different altered states of consciousness. Neuroscientist Andrew Huberman of Huberman Lab Podcast uses the term Non Sleep Deep Relaxation to essentially describe Yoga Nidra, and shown studies on how it increases dopamine and reduces stress.

The practice consists of working with a personal affirmation, body scan to create coherence, energy work, emotional regulation by somatic experiencing pairs of opposite emotions, awakening inner vision and imagination, and connecting with your inner most self.

Belinda scripts a Yoga Nidra journey that is reflective of the current astrology as a powerful way to integrate and learn about astrology.

This class is great for:

– Wanting to integrate the current astrological energy (rather than just learn about it).

– Working on self limiting beliefs.

– Creating coherence in the body and deep states of relaxation.

– Improve emotional regulation in your body.

Belinda MatwaliMy name is Belinda. I’m a trauma-informed spiritual mentor and astrologer with a holistic human + being approach. As human beings, our human side often suffers from woundings, self limiting beliefs and traumas, whilst our being (eternal essence and infinite potential) largely remains unutilised due to not really being taught how to connect with it by our society or schooling. I have over a decade in deep meditation training, spiritual psychology, nutrition, and astrology. I am also qualified in Dr Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry methodology. My sessions are designed to work to support both the Human aspect and the Being aspect of you.
