Kayla is the co founder of Morning Light Studio. As a dedicated practitioner and teacher of Yoga, Pilates and Barre, Kayla lives and breathes what she teaches. Having experienced undeniable changes in her physical, mental and emotional health, she knew early on in her journey that the modalities of Yoga and Pilates were gifts she had to share. Kayla has a burning passion to inspire and empower her students to create a soulful and loving relationship with themselves and creates a safe and nourishing space for healing to become possible. It is easy to see how Morning Light Studio came to life.
Kayla has always been guided towards movement. She started ballet at 3 years old and continued into her teens. She began practicing Pilates at the ripe age of 10 with her mum’s DVD’S and would take them to her friend’s house to run classes. It was clear becoming a Pilates teacher was always apart of Kayla’s destiny. The practice of Yoga and Pilates was later introduced as a way to support her Scoliosis 9 years ago, but what she didn’t realise when first arriving on the mat is how impactful these practices would be for her mental and spiritual health.
Health and well-being are at the essence of her core, she is a Registered Nurse with 8 years of experience in the industry with an interest in Youth Mental Health. She is also a student of Ayurveda (traditional Indian Medicine) and is presently studying to be an Ayurvedic Health Councillor.
Forever dedicated to this path, Kayla has and will continue to learn from many incredible teachers including, Michelle Cassidy, Katie Silcox, Octavio Salvado, Duncan Peak and the wisdom of her own heart. As a teacher Kayla shares fun, up beat, killer Pilates classes and creative, strong, breath focused Vinyasa classes and taps into her softer side with nourishing Yin classes. Kayla’s embodies realness, rawness and her classes invite you to awaken something deeper from within. Her Yoga classes are well known for being a poetic flow, that beautifully and creatively weaves philosophy into the physical practice that is Yoga.
