Nicky began his journey of yoga upon investigating the philosophical concepts of
Mahayana Buddhism and soon gravitated towards Vedic philosophy. Physically, he
started with many years of practicing Iyengar yoga, building a strong foundation of
anatomical alignment and modifying asana for different body types. Nicky encourages the practice of effective pranayama techniques with a balance of eastern
energetics and western science, simple meditation methods and philosophy that’s
relatable.
During the last 7 years of teaching, Nicky has led thousands of public classes, numerous
graduate and post-graduate yoga teacher trainings, event-based classes, retreats,
and workshops around the world.
An intelligently curated process goes into each and every class, making for an
experience that is engaging, nourishing and welcoming for anyone and everyone.
Through years of practice and research, Nicky has designed a playful yet structured approach to vinyasa sequencing with modern bodies in mind. He creates a thoughtful and empathetic approach to a multi-faceted yoga practice, which can be felt
in a way that guides his students towards feeling centred and simply, themselves.
Nicky’s classes take the students on a journey of movement, unlocking areas of the body
through gradual and intentional preparation for each posture. Inviting a joyous experience of intimacy and harmony with the body, while breathwork, meditation and yoga nidra practices are integrated to guide students towards effortless presence.
