BirthWise
A Childbirth and Motherhood Preparation Course with birth worker and Yoga Therapist, Jaz Bashford.
Combining both ancient and modern birth wisdom; this course makes sure we are preparing the body, the mind and the Nervous System for childbirth: which all play vital roles in allowing physiological birth to progress and you to best manage the physical and emotional intensity of the childbirth process.
Who is this course for?
Women who are interested in seeking a vaginal birth and getting the tools and
knowledge to support them in achieving this
Women who want to dive deeper into preparing themselves for the (re)adaption into
Motherhood
Women who want to better prepare for a range of birth experiences, not just Plan A
Women that want to provide their birth support person(s) with the tools they need to be
able to support, coach and advocate for them in childbirth
This is a flexi-course; meaning you can choose to join for 1 or 2 days, with or without your birth support person present for Day 2.
Day 1 is the pregnant mamas-only day – focussed more on preparing your body and mind for childbirth and the specific tools you can personally use to manage the intensity and changing circumstances of childbirth
Day 2 is more focussed on what your birth support person(s) can be doing to support you; giving them a range of tools to support you during childbirth; as well as deep-diving into understanding the physiology of childbirth, interventions and their considerations; the current landscape of birthing within the medical system and utilising a Birth Map to support this.
Course Dates: This course will be offered every 2-3 months at the Morning Light studio

Jasmine Bashford, Rise yogaAs a recent new mother herself, Jasmine has a particular passion for supporting women on their journey, physically and mentally into motherhood. She used her Yoga Therapy training and further studies and research to overcome her own struggle with perinatal anxiety and to support her to have a childbirth that was both an empowering and positive experience for everyone involved. She runs classes and courses and free community circles that support women in this way, as well as her private Yoga Therapy sessions. She is a big advocate for using multi-modalities to support our health and development, knowing that this provides a person with a wider range of accessible tools they can then choose from to suit what their current needs are. She has herself worked with Yoga Therapists, Women's Health Physios, Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Reiki practitioners, Counsellors and Psychologists to support the work she has done in her own health and self-development. She therefore often refers on to allied health professionals and will happily work with any current practitioners you may be working with to help get you the best result.
